Anastasia Pasmanik Donnellan is a contemporary artist who is obsessed with line, form, and exploring new ways to express the human figure and the local landscape. Her true love is drawing and has carried her interest in art since high school. Anastasia has worked and exhibited her work at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, and has held several other prestigious internships, including Christie’s.
After graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a BA in Foreign Studies and Economics, she spent several years in the tech industry. This professional foundation in problem-solving and structure has carried over into her art, where she merges methodical techniques with organic, flowing forms.
Anastasia moved down the street from Yellow Barn in 2022. She has dedicated herself to advancing her career as a visual artist. Drawing inspiration from her daily surroundings along the Potomac River and Cabin John Creek, she spends considerable time outdoors, seeking beauty in the often-overlooked details of nature.
Though largely self-taught, Anastasia has refined her craft through instruction at the Yellow Barn Studio, where she studied with accomplished artists such as Walt Bartman, Gavin Glakas, and others. This mix of self-guided learning and formal training has helped shape her approach to art, which straddles both technical expertise and personal style.
Through her work, Anastasia aims to capture the resilience of nature and its ever-changing beauty, inviting the viewer to reflect on the quiet transformations occurring just beneath the surface.
Anastasia is the manager of The Yellow Barn Studio.
