Dorothy holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Advertising/Design from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and has over three decades of experience as a graphic designer and art director. As the daughter of two artists, she resumed creating art for personal enjoyment after her children completed high school. Since 2019, she has been studying oil painting with Walt Bartman.
As a graphic designer, Dorothy integrates her newfound knowledge of painting with her technical design expertise. A specific assignment from Walt Bartman to create a hard-edge style painting served as the impetus for a series of nautically themed paintings developed using Procreate. As a boater and having recently relocated from Northern Virginia to Annapolis, Maryland, Dorothy discovered both an abundant source of inspiration and a market for her work.
Dorothy is eager to explore and share the diverse applications of Procreate, both in supporting artists in traditional media and as a medium for creating fine art in the digital realm.
Currently, she is selling her work as a founding member of the collaborative Annapolis Pearl Gallery and through the online gallery – www.coastline.art.
