Jane Alexandra Walsh is a local artist whose artwork explores the temporal qualities of light and time in nature. Jane has been on the faculty of the MPCS Visual Art Center (VAC) “pre-college art portfolio development” art magnet program at Albert Einstein High School since 2000. She completed two advanced degrees at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore (MAT in Art Education (1993) and an MFA in Studio Art (2006.) Prior to her career in MCPS (1993-2019) Jane Walsh taught in the National Park Service Educational Program at Glen Echo Park where she was an “Artist in Residence” from 1990-1993. She became a teacher after working in research at the National Geographic Society.
