Maud Taber-Thomas is an oil painter specializing in portraits and scenes inspired by literature and history. She earned her MFA in painting from the New York Academy of Art. She completed her undergraduate studies at Bowdoin College and Oxford University, where she studied Victorian Literature as well as the fine arts. Maud has had paintings in such New York City galleries as Sloan Fine Art, Flowers Gallery, and Dacia Gallery, and has also shown at the Scope Art Fair in Basel, Switzerland. In 2011, Maud was awarded a residency by the Terra Foundation in Giverny, France, where she completed a series of plein air paintings of the town where Monet had his studio. She works and teaches in the Washington, DC area.
