Nadine Vos

Nadine Vos is a classically trained oil painter and instructor with over a decade of experience in traditional painting techniques. Rooted in her Dutch heritage and the historical tradition of still life painting, her work emphasizes careful observation, craftsmanship, and an understanding of the materials that have shaped painting for centuries. Her approach to teaching reflects this same respect for process, patience, and artistic growth.

Vos earned her Bachelor of Science in Studio Art from the University of Maryland, College Park, graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. She continues her advanced training at the Academy of Realist Art Boston, where she studies Old Master techniques, oil paint chemistry, varnishes, and conservation principles. Her education includes intensive study at Yellow Barn Studio and Gallery under Walter Bartman and the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy.

As an instructor, Vos has worked with students of varying skill levels, helping them develop strong foundational skills in drawing, color matching, and oil painting. She has assisted in both in-person and international virtual classes, and emphasizes clear demonstrations, individualized feedback, and a supportive studio environment. Her professional experience as an apprentice at a fine art auction house further informs her teaching, offering students insight into artistic quality, historical context, and craftsmanship.

Vos’s work has been nationally recognized through the Congressional Art Awards and the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, with several paintings exhibited in the United States Capitol. Whether teaching beginners or advanced students, she is committed to guiding artists toward technical confidence, deeper visual understanding, and a lasting appreciation for classical oil painting.
